Overview

LMBA is excited to be expanding our baseball program to include Northwest Prairie Pirates AAA programs at the Bantam and Pee Wee level in addition to our Midget program.

Eligibility

Players in Baseball Sask Zone 7, as well as players from Alberta are encouraged to tryout. The commitment to be in Lloydminster for weeknight practices/games as well as extensive weekend travel must be feasible from your community.

Team Selection Process

LMBA Executive has put into place a new Rep Board to hire coaches, oversee evaluations and field concerns. If the Rep Board is unable to put a Head Coach into place before the ID Camps, independent evaluators will be used. The December ID Camps will narrow each division down to approximately 15-20 players. These players will continue workouts in January.

Schedule

The Midget Prairie Pirates will continue to compete in the SPBL, the top Midget league in Saskatchewan. The Bantam and Pee Wee Pirates, will be competing in either the AAA Alberta League or the AAA Regina League. At all levels, the weekend travel is extensive, beginning late April/early May and continuing into August. There will be very few weekends off.

Cost

In addition to the regular LMBA registration fees ($280) each team will have an additional team fee to be determined at the team level. A $500 deposit per player will be collected when the final roster is selected. The remainder of the cost will be determined once budgets are finalized. Estimated team fees per player are $2000-2500 for Midget and $1200-1500 for Bantam/Pee Wee. This is meant to be an “all-inclusive” cost covering everything including travel and apparel. Payment plans will be an option and fundraising opportunities will be organized at the team and program level to reduce this fee.
